JPG to PNG Converter

JPG to PNG: a copy with no further quality loss, handy for editing and screenshots. PNG-8 palette, dithering and resizing. Files are not uploaded to a server.

Drag images here or click to choose JPG: you can add several files at once or paste from the clipboard (Ctrl+V)

PNG keeps quality without loss. If you limit the number of colors, the file becomes much lighter: this is how icons, diagrams and drawings are compressed.

This converter turns JPG into PNG right in your browser. PNG does not lose quality when saved again, so the file is handy for editing, screenshots and layouts. Details already lost to JPG compression do not come back: PNG simply stores the picture as it is.

JPG is the most common photo format. It compresses with loss and supports neither transparency nor animation, but it opens in any program, on any device and on any site. Each new lossy save degrades the quality a little.

PNG stores a picture without loss, supports full transparency and suits screenshots, logos and graphics. PNG files are heavier than JPG, but they can be made lighter by cutting the colors down to a PNG-8 palette: for icons and diagrams the difference is invisible.

For PNG you can keep all colors without loss or cut the palette to 256, 128, 64, 32 or 16 colors with dithering (PNG-8): the file becomes much lighter. The size in pixels can stay as it is or be changed by width, by height or in percent. Results download one by one or all at once as a ZIP, with random or original names.

Converting JPG to PNG happens in your browser: files are not uploaded to a server, so it is fast and safe. You can drag several files in, pick them in a file window or paste from the clipboard with Ctrl+V.
