Converter from CR3

The ready-made photo embedded in Canon CR3 RAW files is taken and saved as JPG, PNG or WebP. The size may be smaller than the full shot. Everything happens in the browser, files are not uploaded anywhere.

CR3 is the raw image format that Canon introduced in 2017 with the EOS M series mirrorless cameras and later used in the EOS R line. It replaced the CR2 format and received a new structure.

Unlike its predecessor, a CR3 file is built on the ISO Base Media File Format container, which is also used for video and HEIF images. Inside are sensor data, metadata and several embedded images, including a full-size preview.

The new format became more efficient in size thanks to improved compression, and the C-RAW variant gives even lighter files. It supports storing additional information such as dual-pixel autofocus data, but it opens in fewer programs than the older formats.

The CR3 to JPG converter finds the embedded preview shot in the file and saves it in JPG, PNG or WebP format. Thanks to this, you do not need to install the manufacturer’s software to share a frame or quickly assess the result of a shoot.

The extracted image is already processed with the camera settings and may have a lower resolution than the full one. This method does not keep the full sensor information, so for fine editing you should use a RAW editor that supports CR3.

The conversion is performed in the browser on your device, and files are not uploaded to a server. Results can be downloaded one by one or all at once. No registration or software installation is required. The page works on computers, tablets and smartphones.
