Drag images here or click to choose GIF, animated included: you can add several files at once or paste from the clipboard (Ctrl+V)

WebP is lighter than JPG and PNG at the same quality and supports transparency. Lossless mode keeps every pixel.

GIF becomes WebP: the animation is kept, but the file gets much lighter, often several times. That speeds up pages with animation. Choose the quality or lossless mode and change the speed and the number of loops.

GIF is an old format with a palette of up to 256 colors. It supports simple animation and full transparency, but not semi-transparency, and it is poor for photos. Still, GIF plays almost everywhere: in messengers, on forums and on social networks.

WebP is a format for websites: at the same quality the file is usually 25 to 35% lighter than JPG and PNG. It supports transparency and animation, and lossless mode keeps every pixel. Modern browsers open WebP without trouble.

For WebP you set the quality from 1 to 100 or lossless mode, plus a maximum size in kilobytes: the quality is picked automatically. Transparency is kept by default, but you can fill it with a color. Animation is kept: all frames and their delays are carried over, and the speed from 0.5× to 2× and the loops (endless or once) can be changed. The size in pixels can stay as it is or be changed by width, by height or in percent. Results download one by one or all at once as a ZIP, with random or original names.

Converting GIF to WebP happens in your browser: files are not uploaded to a server, so it is fast and safe. You can drag several files in, pick them in a file window or paste from the clipboard with Ctrl+V. Some browsers, Safari in particular, cannot save WebP: in that case use Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
