Base64 to image
Paste a Base64 string or a Data URI and save the image as a file. The format is detected automatically. Everything happens in the browser, data is not sent anywhere.
A Base64 string from CSS, an email or a server response often hides an ordinary picture. This page decodes such text, shows the image and lets you save it as a file that opens in any program.
Different kinds of input are accepted: a plain Base64 string, a full Data URI including the data:image prefix, a piece of code with url(...) and an img tag. Line breaks, spaces and the URL-safe variant of the alphabet are recognized too.
The format is detected from the content itself, not from the label. JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, BMP, ICO, TIFF, AVIF and SVG are supported. If the string is damaged or contains another kind of file instead of a picture, the page will tell you.
Before saving you can keep the original format or convert the picture to PNG, JPG or WebP. The pixel size and file size are shown next to the preview, so you can see right away what was hidden in the string.
Decoding happens in the browser and the text is not sent anywhere. You can paste the string from the clipboard or open it from a text file. The reverse conversion, from a file to a string, is done by the neighboring page of the site.
