PDF to images

Each PDF page is turned into a separate image. Everything happens in the browser, files are not uploaded anywhere.

Pages are drawn on a white background. The range is applied to each PDF. Pages that are too large are automatically scaled down to the browser limit.

Converting a PDF into pictures is needed when a page has to be inserted into a presentation, published on a website, sent in a messenger or edited in a graphics program. Each page of the document turns into a separate image file.

Rendering is performed by the PDF.js library from Mozilla, the same one that is used in the Firefox browser for viewing PDF. The resolution can be chosen from 72, 150, 200 and 300 dpi: a low value is suitable for the screen, a high one for printing and for documents with small text.

The format of the result is PNG, JPG or WebP. PNG keeps sharp lines and text without loss, JPG gives a smaller size for photographs, and WebP combines a compact size with good quality. For JPG and WebP the quality is chosen with a slider.

You can convert the whole document or only the needed pages by entering a range, for example 2-5. Very large pages are automatically scaled down to a safe size so that the browser does not run out of memory. For files with many pages it is better to take fewer at a time.

PDF files protected by a password are not supported. Remove the protection in the program in which the document was created, and then upload the file again. All pages are downloaded in one ZIP archive or one by one, and the file names are numbered in page order.

Everything is performed on your device, and the PDF is not uploaded to a server. For the page to work, access to the PDF.js library is needed. No registration or software installation is required, and the page works on a computer, a tablet and a smartphone.
