Compress to 50 KB
Reduce a photo to 50 KB: the quality is chosen automatically and, if needed, the pixel size is reduced slightly. Everything happens in the browser, files are not uploaded anywhere.
The quality is chosen automatically: the highest one at which the file is not larger than the chosen size. If the file is already smaller, the original is kept.
A 50 KB limit is common on government service sites, in application forms, when registering on forums and when uploading an avatar. A phone photo weighs several megabytes, so it has to be shrunk tens of times before sending.
The page chooses the JPG or WebP quality automatically: the image is encoded several times, and the highest quality at which the file does not exceed 50 KB is selected. You do not need to move a slider and check the size by hand.
If the file stays heavy even at low quality, you can allow the pixel size to be reduced. For an avatar or a photo in a form this is enough: a picture of 600 by 800 dots looks fine and weighs very little.
To compress a photo to 50 KB you can load several files at once. If the source is already lighter than the limit, it is left unchanged. For transparent PNGs choose WebP; when saving to JPG, the transparency is replaced by the chosen background color.
Everything happens in the browser, and files are not uploaded to a server or stored. This is convenient for personal photos and documents. The result is downloaded one by one or all together, and no registration or installation is needed.
