Slicing into parts
Cut one image into equal parts: for a social media grid, a puzzle or printing sheet by sheet. Everything happens in the browser, files are not uploaded anywhere.
Slicing an image into parts is needed for a photo grid on Instagram, a panorama carousel, a large poster printed on several sheets or a puzzle. The page cuts one picture into equal pieces along vertical and horizontal lines, and each piece is saved as a separate file.
The number of columns and rows can be set up to 20, and there are presets for common layouts, such as 3 by 1 for a panoramic carousel or 3 by 3 for a profile grid. The shape of the tiles can be made square or left proportional to the original.
A preview with grid lines is shown above the picture. The part that will be cropped away if the picture does not divide evenly is darkened, so you can see in advance what will remain in the result. This helps to place important details correctly.
For Instagram there is a numbering mode in reverse order. The tiles are numbered so that when they are published one after another, the grid in the profile is assembled in the right order, since new posts are added at the beginning of the feed.
The boundaries of the pieces fall on whole pixels, so the sizes of neighboring tiles differ by no more than 1 pixel. The result is saved in PNG, JPG or WebP, and all the pieces are downloaded in one ZIP archive or separately.
The work takes place on your device, and the picture is not sent to a server. The resolution of the source stays the same, with no loss of sharpness at the joints. No registration or software installation is required.
