RW2 is the raw image format used by Panasonic Lumix cameras and a number of Leica models. The file stores sensor data without final processing, as well as shooting parameters, lens information and the stabilization mode.

In its internal structure RW2 differs from formats based on TIFF, although it uses similar principles. The file contains a header, metadata, a thumbnail, an embedded preview image in JPEG format and a block of sensor data with a color depth of 12 or 14 bits.

Lumix cameras are known for their video capabilities and the Micro Four Thirds system, so the format is often found among bloggers and travelers. RAW processing allows exposure and color to be corrected, but it requires programs that support the specific camera model.

The RW2 to JPG converter extracts the embedded image and saves it as JPG, PNG or WebP. This makes it possible to show a shot quickly, send it by email or publish it on a website without installing additional programs.

Keep in mind that the extracted frame is processed according to the camera settings and may be smaller than the full resolution. For maximum quality and precise editing it is better to use the source file in a RAW editor. After the page is closed, temporary data is removed from browser memory.

All operations are performed in the browser, and files stay on your device and are not transferred to a server. Results can be downloaded one by one or all at once. For large files it is advisable to have enough RAM.
