A watermark is text or a logo laid over an image to indicate authorship, protect against uncontrolled copying, or advertise. Photographers, artists, online store owners and bloggers use it to state the source and make it harder to claim the work as someone else’s.

On the page you can apply a caption or an uploaded logo. For text you choose a serif, sans-serif or monospace font, the weight, the color and an outline that keeps the text legible on light and dark backgrounds. For a logo it is better to use a PNG or SVG with transparency.

The position of the mark is set to one of 9 places on a grid: the corners, the middles of the sides and the center. The size is given as a percentage of the photograph width, so the mark looks the same on pictures of different resolution. The offset from the edge is adjusted separately.

For protecting an image, the tile mode is used, in which the mark repeats across the whole photograph. This variant is harder to remove by cropping. The tilt and the distance between repeats are adjustable, and the transparency is chosen so that the mark is visible but does not interfere with viewing the frame.

A watermark can be applied to many files at once: the parameters are applied to the whole series, and the preview is shown for the first image. The result is saved in the original format or in JPG, PNG or WebP with a choice of quality.

All operations are performed on your device, and the source files are not sent to a server. The size of the image in pixels does not change. Finished pictures are downloaded one by one or all at once. No registration or software installation is required.
