Converter from DNG
The ready-made photo embedded in DNG RAW files is taken and saved as JPG, PNG or WebP. The size may be smaller than the full shot. Everything happens in the browser, files are not uploaded anywhere.
DNG, or Digital Negative, is an open format for storing raw data from a camera sensor, proposed by Adobe in 2004. It was created as a single option to replace the many closed formats of different camera manufacturers.
A DNG file is based on the TIFF structure and contains sensor data, color matrices, metadata and, as a rule, one or more embedded preview images. The format is used by a number of cameras and smartphones, and by Adobe’s own program when converting other manufacturers’ files.
Raw data cannot be displayed without special processing: color interpolation, white balance and a tone curve are required. For this reason ordinary viewers, browsers and social networks do not open such files, and full development is done in specialized editors.
The DNG to JPG converter extracts the ready-made preview image embedded in the file and saves it as JPG, PNG or WebP. This is a quick way to get a picture suitable for publishing without installing heavy programs.
Keep in mind that the embedded image may be smaller than the full resolution of the sensor and does not contain all the information of the source data. For maximum quality and flexible editing a RAW editor is still necessary, but for viewing and sending, such a result is enough.
The work is done in the browser, and files are not uploaded to a server. You can select several shots and download the results separately or all together. For large files it is advisable to have enough RAM.
